About these calculators

Every paycheck tool here starts from the same 2026 tax engine: the federal brackets and $16,100 / $32,200 standard deductions from Revenue Procedure 2025-32, Social Security at 6.2% up to $184,500, Medicare at 1.45% plus 0.9% above $200,000, and each state's enacted brackets and deductions. The difference between the tools is the question they answer.

The paycheck calculator gives net pay per check from an hourly rate or salary with 401(k), HSA and health premiums taken out. The net pay calculator starts from the gross on a pay stub and walks every line to the deposit. The W-4 calculator tells you whether withholding will produce a refund or a bill. The bonus and overtime calculators show why supplemental pay looks over-taxed on the stub and what it costs on the return. The hourly and salary converters, the marriage calculator and the total-comp calculator cover the rest of the questions that come up when an offer arrives.

Common questions

Which tool should I use for my paycheck?
If you know your salary or hourly rate and want the per-check deposit, the paycheck calculator. If you have a pay stub and want to understand each line, the net pay calculator. If your refund or bill was a surprise, the W-4 calculator.
Are the results exact?
They are annual tax figures divided by pay periods, using 2026 law. Your employer's withholding follows your W-4 and can differ by a few dollars per check; the difference is settled when you file.
Do these include state and local taxes?
State income tax, yes, using each state's real 2026 brackets. Statewide mandatory local taxes (Maryland and Indiana counties) are included; city taxes such as New York City or Philadelphia are available on the city pages under each state.
