Advertising Policy

TakeHomeTax displays advertising to support our free educational content. This policy explains how we display ads, our standards for advertisers, and how advertising is separated from editorial content.

Programmatic Display Advertising

We participate in Google AdSense and similar programmatic display advertising networks. These networks serve ads automatically based on Google's policies and user signals. We do not choose individual advertisers and do not endorse the products or services advertised.

Ads are clearly distinguished from editorial content through visual containers, labeling where required, and placement that does not interfere with calculator functionality or content readability.

Advertising Standards

We rely on advertising networks (Google AdSense) to enforce content standards. Google AdSense prohibits ads for content including but not limited to:

  • Misleading financial products or schemes
  • Adult content
  • Illegal products and services
  • Violence and hate speech
  • Dangerous or misleading health claims

If you see an ad on TakeHomeTax that you believe violates these standards, please contact us with the URL and screenshot. We will work with the ad network to address the issue.

Separation of Advertising and Editorial

Our editorial content (calculators, guides, articles, rankings) is created and edited independently of advertising. Advertisers do not influence:

  • The calculation methodology in our tools
  • Rankings or comparisons of states, products, or services
  • The topics we cover in our editorial content
  • The opinions or conclusions in our guides and articles

Native Advertising and Sponsored Content

We do not currently accept native advertising or publish sponsored content disguised as editorial content. If we ever do in the future, sponsored pieces will be clearly labeled ("Sponsored," "Paid Partnership," or similar) and visually distinguished from editorial content.

Direct Advertising Inquiries

We do not currently sell direct advertising slots. All advertising on TakeHomeTax is served through automated networks (Google AdSense). If this changes, this policy will be updated.

Ad Personalization and Cookies

Google AdSense and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve relevant ads based on browsing behavior. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

Ad Blocking

We respect users' choices regarding ad blockers. The site functions fully with ad blockers enabled; calculators and content work the same way. If you find our tools valuable, the most direct way to support us is to share our pages with others who might benefit.
